God, Art & CBT

If one golden thread runs through spirituality, art and CBT, it might be that one we call “soul.” Each of these disciplines seeks access to the core of our existence, a direct experience of whom we really are. Each informs the others, shedding light on those places that lie in shadow in the other disciplines.

I recently had the good fortune of chatting with a deeply soulful person who is an adept in each of these fields. Cypress Morales is a licensed cognitive-behavioral therapist, studio artist and certified mindfulness teacher. In this post we share our experience of traveling these distinct-not-separate roads and a bit of what we and our patients have learned along the way.
